Long-Term Substitute Learning Specialist (Part-Time)
Central Christian School is seeking an individual to serve our school as our 5th/6th Grade Learning Specialist for 12 weeks during a faculty member’s planned absence from February - April 2024. This temporary position is part-time and will work 15 hours per week. This person will support academic student success to a broad range of learners and work collaboratively with teachers and parents. The learning specialist will provide direct instruction in small groups to enhance and support classroom instruction and address students' individual learning goals. The Long-Term Substitute Learning Specialist will serve as a member of our Learning Center team alongside our Director of TLC and another full-time Learning Specialist.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Pray for the students and families of Central Christian School
- Facilitate small group, and one-on-one writing, reading comprehension, and math instruction
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records and provide informative reports at regularly scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences and annual ISP/22:6 meetings
- Partner and maintain quality, timely communication with parents
- Demonstrate understanding and application of tiered models of student support
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Implement academic accommodations and modifications for students with identified learning needs- both in the classroom and for standardized testing
- Implement individual student plans for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities
- Collaborate with staff, administrators, instructional staff, other school personnel, and parents/legal guardians to improve the overall quality of student achievement
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
